Dr Jennifer Irvine

Overview of Career

I graduated from Witwatersrand University Medical School in 1992 and did my internship at the then J G Strydom hospital. On completion of my internship I went the UK for further experience. There I obtained a diploma from the Royal College in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DRCOG) in 1997 before specializing as a General Practioner and attaining membership of the Royal College of General Practioners (MRCGP) in 2000. I spent a year working in New Zealand before joining a General Practice partnership in the UK in 1998. I developed an interest in Dermatology and Aesthetics while assisting in a Dermatology clinic in the UK.

In 2003 I decided to return home to South Africa. This gave me an opportunity to combine both my GP and Aesthetic careers. In 2007 I started performing laser lipolysis using The Lipolite system. I trained on this system in the UK. I was one of the first doctors to perform this procedure in South Africa. I have since done further training in Israel and am now the South African trainer for the lipolite system. I am also a trainer for Genop, running some of their advanced Botox training sessions. I thoroughly enjoy teaching and hope to get more involved in training both medical students and doctors interested in Aesthetics.
