When can I expect to see results?

Each treatment will result in less hair coming back, as well as hair growing progressively lighter in colour, becoming finer and also slowing regrowth.

How many treatments will I have to receive?

It takes more than one treatment to affect all the follicles growing in an area. The number of treatments required will be based on your hair color and type, body area, and skin tone.

Most people achieve satisfactory clearance after 4-8 treatments, which are usually performed every 1-2 months. Individual results vary depending on medical and genetic factors which will be discussed during your consultation at The Aesthetics Centre.

Lighter coloured hair may also require more treatments than darker coloured hair.

Does Laser Hair Removal hurt?

No. The sensation is often described as a "hot pinch" or "snapping" feeling. The sensation only lasts for a fraction of a second and warmth and/or a tingling sensation is experienced for a short time afterward. Cooling of the skin surface as well as constant measurement of the skin’s resistance ensures however safety and comfort during treatment.

Most people tolerate treatment without any topical anaesthetic, but individuals who are more sensitive may prefer to have their skin numbed before treatment.

And after my treatment?

This is a no-downtime procedure. Temporary pinkness in the skin lasts a very short time and most people return to work or normal activities immediately after treatment.

The treated area will "shed" some hairs over the next 3-4 weeks and there may be a short period of irregular hairlessness in the area until the conclusion of treatments.

How does Laser Hair Removal work?

Gentle light and electric energies are combined to damage the hair follicle. This disables the follicle from growing hair, which means that gradually over several treatments, there is a long-term reduction in the amount of hair in that area.
